Just about a mile from the trail head

We came upon many emergency vehicles. They were pulling what was left of a motorcycle from the rocks at a turn. Beyond the turn was this evacuation Helicopter, where they were loading a stretcher on. It reminded us of what the volunteer at the Vetter lookout said as we listened to his radio crackle about a year ago. That on the weekend on average, there is a serious motorcycle accident every two hours in the forest.
